Meet the Director – Michelle Clark
Involved in dance for over 36 years, Michelle Clark strives for performance excellence. Michelle studied dance at Ryerson University and is a certified member of the Canadian Dance Teachers Association. Throughout her years in dance, Michelle has competed and choreographed routines for competitions all over Canada and the United States and has had the honourable distinction of several prestigious dance scholarships. In addition, Michelle has choreographed and performed with dance bands as well as the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger Cats Dance Team.
Under Michelle’s direction and leadership the Strictly Rhythm competitive team continues to bring home many diamond and platinum awards. Michelle’s choreography has won numerous choreography and special awards. Michelle is also actively invovled with the recreational program. Michelle teaches all dance elements/styles.
Kessandra Cook
Dance Instructor
Kessandra started dancing at the age of 3 and instantly fell in love with the freedom of movement that comes along with the art form. She has trained in all styles of dance. Alongside training at her studio, Kessandra also attended high school for the arts where she graduated with the Regionals Arts Program specializing in dance. In this program she was honoured to receive special roles in productions such as “The Nutcracker”, “Where the Wild Things Are”, and “The Polar Express”.
Kessandra has continued to learn and grow as both a dance and teacher by taking classes in Los Angeles, Toronto, and New York from well-known choreographers. She is inspired by how dance, as an art form, is constantly evolving.
Briar Dermo
Dance Instructor
Briar has been dancing for 16 years at an Elite Competitive level. Briar has won multiple scholarships, overalls and awards across Ontario during her dance career. She is a competitive dance teacher at Strictly Rhythm and brings her love of all styles of dance to everything she teaches. Briar is currently working on her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at the University of Guelph. Dance is a huge part of Briar’s life and she brings that enthusiasm to everything she teaches her students.
Darian Dermo
Dance Instructor
Darian has 18 years experience in the dance industry, 15 years dancing and 8 of them as a competitive student with SRDA. As a competitive dancer Darian travelled across Ontario winning many awards. Darian has been teaching for the last 3 years and specializes in Preschool dance. She is recognized as a Qualified ECE instructor and has her First Aid Training, Darian enjoys doing theme days and making every dance class a joy for your little dancers to attend. Darian is currently working on a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Guelph in Child and Youth studies.
Holly Reid
Dance Instructor
Holly started dancing at the very young age of 2, and has been involved with musical theatre since the age of 10. She joined Royal Canadian Musical Productions in Guelph and landed the role of Kathy Selden in Singin’ in the Rain. Holly also had a leading role in White Christmas, and she took on three separate roles in Seussical. Those performances earned her awards for Outstanding Dance Performance from the RCMPI’s Board of Directors.
Holly is part of the studio’s recreational program, as well as a member of its competitive tap team.
